Calgary-based Petrolifera Petroleum has signed a technical evaluation agreement with Colombia’s hydrocarbons regulator ANH for the Sierra 2 area adjacent to its existing Sierra 1 licence in the country, it said today.
Petrolifera said the 879,000-acre area offsets a number of Lower Magdalena basin accumulations known from the Sierra 1 area.
It said the agreement committed Petrolifera to reprocessing 650 kilometres of 2D seismic information for the area and completing other geological and geophysical studies.
Petrolifera said the signing of the agreement gave it control of a total of 1.2 million acres in Colombia.
