Phu Horm puts on a good show

By Upstream staff

The partners at Thailand's Phu Horm gas field said today the Phu Horm-10 well would be completed as a producing well after testing indicated good gas shows.

The PH-10 well was drilled to a total depth of 2343 metres and showed gas over a 140 metre interval, joint venture partner Salamander Energy said today

Following logging operations, the Phu Horm partners elected to test the well, which has stabilized at an average flow rate of 10 million cubic feet per day.

Production gauges have been placed down hole and the well will now be hooked up to the Phu Horm production facilities in order to provide additional capacity in support of the existing production wells.

Phu Horm is operated by US independent Hess with a 35% stake. The other partners are APICO (35%), PTTEP (20%) and ExxonMobil (10%).

Salamander owns 27.2% of APICO, which gives it an interest of 9.5% in Phu Horm.
