Oil flow: in the Cooper-Eromanga basin
Callawonga-3 starts to flow
The joint venture partners at pemit PEL 92 in Australia's Cooper-Eromanga basin said today that oil was now flowing from the Callawonga-3 well at a rate of 5660 barrels of oil per day.
The partners now expect Callawonga-2 and Callawonga-3 to be tied into the production facilities and placed on production towards the end of October, co-venturer Cooper Energy said.
Callawonga-3 is the second well in a three-well appraisal/development drilling program to develop the Callawonga oilfield.
The development wells are targeting the Namur reservoir that is currently being produced from the Callawonga-1 discovery well.
The rig will now move to the Callawonga-4 location and an announcement will be made when the well has spud, which is expected in a week or so.
Beach Petroleum has a 75% intererest in PEL 92, with Cooper holding the remainder.
