Oilex pushes ahead with drill double

Australia's Oilex said it was making steady progress with the drilling of two wells at its production sharing contracts in Indonesia and India.

Oilex said it was making preparations to drill ahead at the Pendalian-3 well at the West Kampar PSC in central Sumatra, Indonesia.

Drilling is scheduled to take 13 days after which the well will be cased and a comprehensive 14-day multi-zone testing programme will begin.

Oilex has a 45% interest in the West Kampar PSC, alongside operator Sumatera Persada Energi (55%).

Oilex also said it had competed mobilisation of the drilling rig at the Bhandut-2 well at the Bhandut PSC, India.

The well will be re-entered and abandoned prior to commencing the Bhandut 2Z appraisal/production well.

Oilex has a 40% stake in the Bhandut PSC, with operator Gujurat State Petroleum Corporation holding the remaining 60%.
