Rosneft to spend $2bn to cut flaring

Russian producer Rosneft is set to spend 67 billion roubles ($2.68 billion) over five years to reduce gas flaring during oil production, company vice-president Mikhail Stavsky said today.

"Investments will peak in 2008-2009. The programme foresees an increase in the utilisation of associated gas to 95% from the current 59%," Stavsky told Reuters.
