Repaired: the Basker Spirit
Basker Manta returns to full output
Anzon Australia said today that the Basker Manta joint venture had restarted normal operations at its Gippsland basin project off south-east Australia, ending four-months of curtailed production.
The Gippsland projects had been operating at a reduced level since July, when a mooring chain on the shuttle tanker Baser Spirit was damaged.
Anzon said repairs to the mooring chain were completed earlier this week following the mobilisation of the construction vessel Havila Harmony, the installation of a new shackle and pin and the the holing up of the Baser Spirit.
The mooring has been successfully tested and oil is now being transferred directly from the floating production, storage and offloading vessel Crystal Ocean.
Anzon said it expects full oil production rates to be established during this week.
Since the damage to the mooring chain, Anzon has continued operations at a reduced rate of an average 3100 barrels per day.
Partners in the Basker Manta joint venture are operator Anzon (40%), Beach Petroleum (40%) and Cieco Exploration & Production (20%).
