Petronas and Osaka tie LNG deal

By Upstream staff

Petronas unit Malaysia LNG (MLNG) has signed a sale and purchase agreement with Japan’s Osaka Gas to supply up to 920,000 tonnes per year of liquefied natural gas for 15 years beginning April 2009.

The LNG will be transported from the MLNG complex in Bintulu to Osaka's receiving terminals in Senboku and Himeji, Japan, by LNG tankers owned and operated by Petronas subsidiary MISC.

Osaka Gas is the second largest gas company in Japan, supplying household and industrial gas to more than 6.8 million users in the Kansai area.
