Red Fork probes Oklahoma coals

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Red Fork Energy said it had spudded its Red Fork 5-29 coalbed methane well in Oklahoma.

Red Fork said the well would be sunk to 1500 feet to test a number of potential pay zones in the company’s 100% owned Osage project.

The company said it expected the well to reach total depth this weekend.

The company had agreed to drill a further three wells this month and in early January.

Red Fork holds about 37,000 acres in Oklahoma.
