Second Acacia Estes probe spudded
By Upstream staff
UK-listed explorer Black Rock Oil said its operator had spudded the Acacia Estes-2 well on the Las Quinchas Assocation contract in Columbia’s Middle Magdalena Valley.
Black Rock said Kappa Resources Columbia had spudded the well on 21 December. The well is expected to take 40 days to drill, test and complete, it said.
Oil was struck in several horizons in the Acacia Este-1 discovery well in July this year, with up to 101 barrels per day of heavy oil being recovered during testing.
Black Rock said Kappa planned a programme of further drilling and seismic testing to delineate the discovery.
