Khursaniyah ‘on stream by March’

Saudi Arabia is due to bring its delayed giant Khursaniyah oilfield project on stream in the first quarter, an official at state oil company Saudi Aramco said yesterday.

"Khursaniyah will come on stream in the first quarter," Aramco official Amin al-Nasser said in a presentation to an energy conference in Riyadh, Reuters reported.

The 500,000-barrels-per-day project had been due to start last month. Aramco said last week it had begun preparing start up at the field but did not say when production would begin.
