Gold Point waits on Argentina tests

Vancouver-based Gold Point Energy said its operator, APCO Argentina, had reached total depth in its Lomas de Guayacan X-1 well on the Martinez del Tineo Oeste prospect in Argentina and was preparing to test the bore.

Gold Point said in a statement the well had reached 2264 metres in the targeted Cretaceous Lecho formation.

The company said APCO had reported oil and gas shows while drilling through the Yacorite formation. APCO now planned to log and evaluate the well.

The well is the second to be drilled on the Capricorn licence in northern Argentina under a joint venture agreement between Gold Point, Antrim Argentina and APCO.
