MEO spits on Blackwood bit
Melbourne-based explorer MEO Australia said it would spud the first
exploration well on its Blackwood prospect in the Timor Sea.
MEO said the well would be sunk by Seadrill’s jack-up rig West Atlas, which
has been contracted for two wells.
The well will target the Plover formation in the Blackwood structure, MEO said.
The prospect lies on MEO’s NT/P68 permit, which it owns through its TSP
Arafura Petroleum and Oz-Exoil subsidiaries.
