Pacific Rubiales strikes Magdalena gas

Canadian-based Pacific Rubiales Energy expects its DST-1 discovery probe to produce an estimated 27.7 million cubic feet per day from Colombia's Magdalena basin.

The well confirms the gas production potential of the La Creciente block, where six other prospects have been spotted.

Pacific Rubiales owns 100% of Colombian operator Meta Petroleuma. Meta operates in the Rubiales and Piriri oilfields in the Llanos basin in association with Colombian state-owned Ecopetrol.
