Oslo hands out APA bounty

The Norwegian Cabinet has approved offers for the country's 2007 Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) round, giving the nod to a total of 52 production licences.

The production licenses are divided between the North Sea, with 24, 21 in the Norwegian Sea and seven in the Barents Sea.

The Energy Department said offers had been sent to the following operators, with the number of operatorships in parentheses:

  • Dana Petroleum (1)
  • Det norske oljeselskap (3)
  • Discover Petroleum (19
  • Dong (1)
  • E.On Ruhrgas (4)

  • Lundin Petroleum (4)
  • Nexen (3)
  • NOIL Energy (4)
  • Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) (3)
  • OMV (1)
  • Revus Energy (5)
  • Rocksource (1)
  • StatoilHydro (9)
  • Wintershall (2)

The Ministry added that it had also sent offers to 37 players. The number of shares, including those where the companies are operators, are in parentheses:
