UK independent Dana Petroleum has bagged stakes in three new exploration licences in Norway’s 2007 Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) round.

The licence areas lie in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea.

The awards include PL 464 on blocks 31/1 and 32/1, which Dana will operate with a 55% stake, with Germany's E.ON Ruhrgas holding the remaining stake.

Dana also won a 30% stake in PL 484, on block 6608/10, which the Norwegian Energy Company will operate with a 40% interest, with E.ON Ruhrgas holding the remaining 30% share.

It also took a 30% stake in Pl 485, on blocks 6508/3, 6608/12, 6609/10 and 6609/11, operated by Det Norske Oljeselskap with a 40% stake, and with Norway's Discover Petroleum as a 30% partner.

Dana holds a 45% stake in the producing Jotun oilfield, operated by ExxonMobil, and interests in a total of eight licences on the Norwegian Continental Shelf covering 16 blocks or part blocks.
