Lundin sizes up Nemo find

Swedish producer Lundin Petroleum has confirmed that the Nemo find, in Production Licence 148, off Norway, holds between 19 million and 30 million barrels of recoverable oil.

The discovery, which was made in 1992, was initially estimated to hold 22 million barrels of oil equivalent. Appraisal drilling has now confirmed this estimate.

The 7/4-2 appraisal well was not formation-tested, but extensive data collection and sampling was carried out, including fluid samples.

Operator Lundin said the results of will now be evaluated by the operators, with a development looking likely.

Lundin operates PL148 with a 50% stake. Its partners are Talisman with 30% and Noreco with the remaining 20%.
