Drillbit bites at Phi-North

By Upstream staff

BG Group and Lundin Petroleum have spudded exploration well 15/12-19 on the Phi-North prospect in production licence 292, in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

PL 292 lies in blocks 6/3 and 15/12.

The 15/12-19 well will be drilled to about 3100 metres and is targeting a middle Jurassic and the Triassic/lower Jurassic reservoir.

The Maesk Guardian jack-up rig is drilling the well, and work should take about two months to complete.

BG operates the well, while Lundin has a 40% stake.
