Innamincka cases Flax bore

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Innamincka Petroleum said casing was being run on the Flax-6 development well, in the Queensland sector of the Cooper basin, after reaching total depth of 2802 metres.

The company said initial wireline analyses showed about eight metres of potential oil pay in the basal Patchwarra-Tirrawarra and about four metres of potential pay in the middle and upper Patchwarra section.

The company said the shows were the deepest found so far at Flax. The well spudded 18 days ago.

The well is the second of a five-bore programme further delineating the Flax and Juniper fields and exploring for an oil accumulation north of the Yarrow field.

The first well of the programme, Flax-5, has been cased as a future oil producer.

Innamincka is the operator of the field and holds a 75% stake in the project, while SCGAU, a subsidiary of Seoul City Gas, holds the remaining 25%.
