NWSV supersizes Chubu order

By Upstream staff

Australia’s North West Shelf Venture (NWSV) consortium has signed a deal with Japanese utility Chubu Electric to supply about 500,000 tonnes per year of liquefied natural gas for seven years, starting in 2009.

The agreement boosts NWSV’s sales to Chubu to 1.1 million tonnes per year, the consortium said in a statement.

Australia’s BHP Billiton and Woodside, supermajors Shell, BP and Chevron and Japan's Mimi have equal stakes in the NWSV joint venture.
