French explorer Maurel & Prom revealed results from two successful wells in Colombia.
M&P said the Balcon-22 development well on the Palermo Block in the upper Magdelana valley had struck oil in the Caballos formation in the northern part of the field.
The well was tested at 950 barrels per day and was connected to existing surface infrastructure, the company said.
M&P operates the well with 50% stake. Colombian state oil company Ecopetrol holds the remaining stake.
M&P said the Pacande Sur-2 appraisal well on the Ortega Block in the upper Magdelena valley struck hydrocarbons in four horizons in the Cabellos formation.
The well, about 250 kilometres south-west of Bogota, flowed 800 bpd during testing and was tied into existing facilities at the site.
The well was operated by Ecopetrol with a 31%, with M&P holding the remaining 69% stake.
