Officials from over a dozen African countries are expected to appear at a new oil and gas event organised by Energy and Corporate Africa in Houston.

The Premier Sub-Saharan Africa Oil and Gas conference is scheduled to take place on 16 June through 18 June 2008 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston.

The conference aims to link potential partners and investors with African government officials and business executives involved in the exploration and production of oil and gas.

In addition to Nigeria and Angola, industry representatives are expected from Cameroon, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote D’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Sao Tome & Principe and Senegal.

Energy and Corporate Africa chief executive Sunny Lawrence - Oputa said attendees will have access to up-to-date information on upcoming bidding rounds and requirements, available acreage, and recent survey results.

Information will also be presented on how to conduct business in the African E&P market while adhering to local content regulations.

“Delegates can take advantage of excellent networking opportunities with the industry decision makers,” he said.
