Tethys Oil has entered into an agreement with Oilex for a three month rig sublet of the Abraj 204 onshore Oman.
The sublet will take place later this year.
Tethys will mobilise the rig after it completes its current assignment on Block 56 which is expected to be towards the end of May.
Tethys has a 40% stake and is operator of Block 15, where the company is conducting an appraisal programme on the Jebel Aswad structure.
On testing of the Jebel Aswad re-entry well in June last year, the well flowed at a rate of 2,626 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
Danish Odin Energi holds a 60% stake in the block.
