Odim lands $37m handling systems gig

By Upstream staff

Odim has landed a Nkr190 million ($37.1 million) job to provide automated handling systems for two 3D seismic vessels being built for fellow Norwegian company Eidesvik Seismic Vessels and contractor CGGVeritas.

The two Ulstein SX120 vessels, being built at Ulstein Verft in western Norway, will be equipped to tow 16 seismic streamers. The Odim systems are due to be delivered in the third and fourth quarters of next year.

Idar Hatloy, who heads Odim's seismic segment, said: “We’ve built up good relations with both customer and contractor (CGGVeritas) over a number of years.”

He added that these are sixth and seventh Eidesvik vessels to be kitted out with Odim equipment where CGGVeritas is contractor.
