Holmes-3 well detects oil

Perth-based Amadeus Energy said its Holmes-3 well on the Barry East field in Rooks County, Kansas, had logged oil in the LKC and Arbuckle zones after the being drilled to total depth of 3850 feet.

Amadeus said its operator, TNT Engineering, expected to complete the well in the potential pay zones by the end of the month.

The company holds an 85% stake in the well.

Amadeus also said TNT had spudded the Stice-7 well on the Webster field on 22 March, targeting the Arbuckle formation at a depth of 3500 feet.

The well, in which Amadeus also holds an 85% stake, has reached a depth of 3330 feet.

Both wells are part of the White Eagle development in Kansas.
