Malka gets connected

By Upstream staff

Swedish independent Malka Oil has completed building a new pipeline connecting its fields in the Tomsk area of western Siberia to Transneft’s system via Tomskayeneft.

Malka operates three oil fields, Zapadno-Luginetskoye (ZL), Lower Luginestskoye (LL) and Schinginskoye in block 87. The ZL and LL fields are both in production.

“Connecting to Tomskayaneft gives us a second indirect distribution channel onto Transneft and increases operational reliability (compared to) our existing solution,” said Malka boss Fredrik Svinhufvud.

The company currently distributes its oil via a combination of pipeline and road transportation. The new pipeline is due to come on stream at the end of May.
