Dunsborough shows ‘may be residual’

By Upstream staff

Roc Oil said initial logging of the Dunsborough-2 appraisal well on the offshore Perth Basin in Western Australia appeared to indicate that oil shows it reported from coring activities last week were residual and not productible, but it said further analysis needed to be carried out.

The well reached total depth of 1680 metres on Friday.

Roc said analysis of pressure data and fluid samples should allow a definitive interpretation to be made within 24 hours.

Roc operates the WA-286-P permit with a 37.5% stake, on behalf of joint venture partners Arc Energy (30%), Australian Worldwide Exploration (27.5%) and Cieco (5%).
