Flying the flag: Argentina's Pluspetrol
Pluspetrol steps on Camisea gas
Argentine producer Pluspetrol aims to complete the expansion of its Malvinas gas-to-liquids plant - part of the Camisea gas project in Peru - by the second half of the year, according to reports.
A project update document seen by news service BNamericas said the plant's processing capacity will jump to 85,000 barrels per day from 50,000 bpd once the expansion is completed.
The $800 million expansion aims to boost gas production to 1.2 billion cubic feet per day from 500 million cubic feet per day.
Liquids output will increase to 75,000 bpd from 37,000 bpd.
Pluspetrol is part of the Camisea consortium and owns the project's gas extraction component. Peruvian outfits TGP and Calidda hold the respective transport and distribution components.
