Gail snaps up PMT flows

The Gas Authority of India Limited (Gail), India’s largest gas marketer, said it would buy the entire output of the Panna, Mukti and Tapti (PMT) fields off India’s West Coast under a deal with operating joint venture members Reliance Industries, BG Group and ONGC.

Gail said it would buy theproject’s entire output of 17.3 million cubic metres per day. The company said it would pay $5.73 per million British thermal units for gas from the Panna field and $5.73 per million Btus for output from Tapti.

Gail said the deal was signed on 31 March and followed the company’s nomination by the Indian government to take the project’s production.
