New woes for Stigandi delivery

By Upstream staff

Scan Geophysical is facing further delays with the delivery of seismic vessel M/V Stigandi following unexpected damages to the main gear and the shaft generator that will need complete overhauls.

The delay will mean that the vessels contractual mobilisation will now be delayed by a further month to the end of May.

The vessel upgrade has already been hit with delays prior to this, due to shortages in engineering capacity and late deliveries of equipment from some of the yard’s subcontractors.

M/V Stigandi is being converted at the Irving shipyard in Halifax, Canada.
