By Upstream staff

Australia’s Roc Oil said today that the Banda NW appraisal well, off Mauritania, had reached a total depth of 2703 metres and wireline logs are now being carried out.

Once wireline logs are complete, the semi-submersible drilling rig Atwood Hunter will move to the Chinguetti oil and gas field where it will carry out a programme of planned well interventions and drill two new production wells.

Roc holds a 3.693% interest in the production sharing contract area B joint venture, along with PC Mauritania on 53.846%, Tullow Oil on 21.6%, Mauritania Holdings with 11.63% and Premier Oil on 9.231%.
