Aussie duo hit gas at Edirne again

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Otto Energy and Incremental Petroleum have unearthed 40 metres of net gas pay in the second of five wells on the Edirne gas project in western Turkey, potentially paving the way for commercial gas production next year.

The onshore Kuzey Arpaci-1 probe indicated a net gas pay of more than 40 metres between 297 metres and 505 metres, more than double the pre-drill estimate.

The total depth of the well is 540 metres and the present operation is running 5-inch casing to total depth.

Incremental aims to confirm gas volumes and develop the fields for production by the middle of next year.

The partners in the Erdirne gas project are operator Incremental on 55%, Otto Energy with 35% and joint operator Petraco Energi holding 10%.
