Petrofac heeds $105m Kashagan call

By Upstream staff

UK-based oilfield services outfit Petrofac has bagged a $105 million job with AgipKCO at the Kashagan development, off Kazakhstan.

The job, which also has options worth a further $10 million, covers the engineering and procurement work on a fourth sales gas compressor train for the project's gas and liquefied petroleum gas plant. Debottlenecking modifications to tranches 1 and 2 of the gas treatment plant are also involved.

Petrofac said the work is essential to accommodate the extra gas associated with the processing of the production from the third oil train.

The work will be carried out as an amendment to petrofac's existing gas treatment plant contract with AgipKCO.

Petrofac’s work to date on the experimental phase of the Kashagan field development includes engineering, procurement and construction management for the oil treatment plant, gas and LPG treatment plant and sulphur treatment plant.
