Gazprom turns on export taps
Russian gas giant Gazprom boosted its natural gas exports to 60.63 billion
cubic metres in January to March of 2008, up 24.2% on the same period last
year, official data showed.
Russia produced 178.1 Bcm of gas in January-March of this year, up 1.8% on the
first quarter last year, energy ministry data showed.
Gazprom produced 151.1 Bcm of Russia's total output in the period, up 1.7%
from the same period of last year.
Last year, Gazprom exported 150.5 Bcm of gas and has said it will increase
this by 4.3% to 157 Bcm this year.
