Technical woes shut in Al Jurf flows

By Upstream staff

About 45,000 barrels per day of output from the Al Jurf field, in Block 137N off Libya, has been shut in due to a technical problem, with National Oil Corporation boss Shokri Ghanem warning the field could be off line for a few weeks.

Al Jurf is operated jointly by NOC and France's Total.

"Production of 45,000 barrels a day has been stopped. This will be the case for a few weeks," he told Reuters. "We have a team working there, so hopefully soon we will bring back the production."

No one at Total was immediately available for comment.
