Latest jobsTurkmenistan resumed its natural gas exports to neighbouring Iran today, according to Iranian media reports.
"Turkmenistan's gas exports to Iran resumed on Friday morning," Mohammad Reza Forghani, Iran's ambassador to Ashgabat, told Iran's IRNA official news agency.
Ashgabat halted its gas deliveries of up to 23 million cubic metres per day to Iran in late December, citing technical issues. Iranian officials have said the aim was to raise the price.
In early April, an Iranian energy official said negotiations between Iran and Turkmenistan were continuing and that he believed the gas imports from Turkmenistan would soon resume.
Vice-minister at Iran's Oil Ministry Ali Kordan said earlier this month Tehran would accept an increase in the price of Turkmen natural gas imports as long as it was "logical".
