Strike halts ExxonMobil's Delta flows

By Upstream staff

A strike by workers at ExxonMobil in Nigeria has forced the company to shut in about 200,000 barrels of crude oil output, a senior union official said today.

"As we speak now, about 200,000 barrels have already been shut," the official, who asked not to be named, told Reuters.

Meanwhile, an ExxonMobil official told the news agency: "The entire company is on strike today. All output (from ExxonMobil's Nigerian oilfields) is affected."
