Seadrill to buy 15.8m shares in Scorpion

By Upstream staff

Norwegian rig player Seadrill has decided to buy 15.8 million of the outstanding shares in Scorpion at a price of Nkr 80 ($15.63) per share based on an all -or-nothing order.

The move comes after Seadrill chose not to accept the voluntary offer previously made from Fortune Private Equity on Scorpion Offshore.

If successful, Seadrill will then place a mandatory offer for the remaining shares.

Seadrill has retained Carnegie and Pareto Securities as financial advisors for the purchase of Scorpion shares.
