CNOOC Ltd, the listed unit of China National Offshore Oil  Corporation (CNOOC) is embarking on a plan that envisages increased co-operation with foreign oil companies at home and  overseas as it works to meet a  targeted hydrocarbon production growth rate of between 6% and 10% per annum from now until 2015.

Profitable pipeline: TransCanada

TransCanada pipes in profits

Pipeline operator TransCanada Corporation has seen its first-quarter profit rise by 69%.

TransCanada, which operates the Alberta natural gas pipeline systems, earned C$449 million (US$440.2 million), or 83 Canadian cents a share, up from year-earlier C$265 million, or 52 Canadian cents share.

It said comparable earnings jumped to C$326 million, or 60 Canadian cents per share, from C$250 million, or 49 Canadian cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.
