Guerrillas strike Pakistan pipelines

Guerrillas blew up two gas-pipelines in Pakistan’s south-western Baluchistan
province, shutting in supplies to industrial clients in the Punjab region.
Rebels of the Baluch Republican Army claimed responsibility for the attacks on
the pipelines in the Dera Bugli and Naseerabad districts, the Australian
Broadcasting Corporation reported on its website.
Ethnic Baluch tribes in the province, which borders both Afghanistan and Iran,
have taken up arms seeking greater autonomy and a bigger share of the area’s
mineral wealth.
