Numhyd buys stake in Algeria play

Algerian state energy group Sonatrach signed has a deal to sell Algerian-Tunisian joint venture Numhyd a 25% stake in Algeria's Hamra perimeter at blocKs 220a and 220b, Sonatrach said.

It gave no details on the agreement with the company, which is 50-50 owned and managed by Sonatrach and Tunisia's state-controlled energy company ETAP.

Numhyd will also soon buy a 30% stake from ETAP in the Nord des Chotts perimeter on Tunisian territory, Sonatrach added in a statement posted on its website, reported Reuters.

Numhyd and ETAP are due to sign an accord with the Tunisian government for exploration works in the Kaboudia offshore perimeter in Tunisia, the statement said.
