Scan bounces back into the black

Norwegian seismic player Scan Geophysical has clawed its way back into profit, reported net profits of Nkr1.9 million ($370,000) for the first quarter versus a net loss of Nkr11.7 million in the previous quarter.

The outfit’s operating revenues hit Nkr116.7 million for the January to March quarter, Nkr21.8 million higher than the last quarter.

The 3D vessel M/V Scan Resolution contributed Nkr87.1 million compared to Nkr78.7 million in the previous quarter. The vessel achieved good day rates during the quarter, but suffered a loss of revenues from 23 days technical downtime.

The 2D vessel M/V Geo Searcher’s share of the revenue was Nkr29 million versus Nkr19.8 million in the fourth quarter of last year.
