Amec gets BP Caspian call

By Upstream staff

UK engineering giant Amec is reported to have won a five-year contract worth $500 million to provide engineering and construction management services on BP’s platform in the Caspian Sea off Azerbaijan.

The work is intended to enhance production at the facilities and extend their working life, MarketWatch quoted the company as saying.

The platforms, which include the giant Shah Deniz project, produce about 20% of BP’s global output, the news service said.
