By Upstream staff

Brisbane-based Innamincka Petroleum has spudded the Crocus South-1 exploration well on Petroleum Exploration Licence 101 in South Australia's Cooper basin and was today drilling ahead at a depth of 535 metres.

The well near the town of Moomba is planned to be drilled to a total depth of 3440 metres over 34 days, the company said. Surface casing will be set at 1000 metres.

Innamincka operates the well with a 60% stake, while MCEA owns the remaining 40%.
