Schat-Harding lands Pemex lifeboat deal

By Tom Liskey

Marine lifeboat supplier Schat-Harding will supply 10 lifeboats to Pemex as part of a new contract that the Mexican oil monopoly has handed to the Norwegian outfit and another company.

The units will be delivered by the end of August and be used at Pemex's Abkstun/Pol-Chuc offshore project.

As part of the deal, Duncan y Cassio holds the maintenance and service part of a three-year contract.

No financial deals were available on the value of the contract. Pemex, which suffered a string of offshore accidents last year, is renewing its life-boat capacity on many of its offshore rigs and assets.
