Bow rides high on Cuisinier success

By Upstream staff

Brisbane-based Bow Energy said it had struck six metres of net oil pay in the Cuisinier-1 well on the Cooper basin on south-west Queensland, indicating a potential new oilfield discovery.

It said the well, on the ATP 752P exploration permit, had been cased and suspended as a future producer after logging of a sandstone interval between depths of 1622 and 1630 metres.

Bow said the well lies six kilometres west of the Santos-operated Cook oilfield.

The Cuisinier well was drilled under a staged farm-in agreement with Santos and Avery Resources that sees Bow fully carried on up to six more exploration wells on the permit as well as new 3D work.

Bow retains a 15% stake in the permit.

The company said it plans to spud the next well on the permit, Hudson-1, in June.
