Wintershall scores Argentina double
German player Wintershall has won two licences - CCA-1, also known as Gan-Gan
and CGSJ-V/A - in the Canadon Asfalto basin, in Argentina's Chubut province.
Wintershall takes a 50% operating stake in the two licences, which cover
about 20,000 square kilometres in total, while its consortium partner repsol
YPF holds the remainder.
The company said that preliminary geological and geophysical studies were
carried out over the areas in 2002 and 2004, and is planning to carry out a
2D seismic shoot within the next three years.
Drilling plans will be amde public at a later date.
