Ladbrokes takes a flutter on Brent surge

UK bookmaker Ladbrokes has taken a bet on surging commodities prices, offering punters odds of 8/1 that Brent crude will hit $200 before the end of the year.

A punter laying $20 down at those odds stands to win about $175.

Brent crude oil futures, trading at around $118.50 a barrel earlier today, are a 2/1 bet to reach $150 by that time, Ladbrokes said.
