Blue Energy sees bright future

By Upstream staff

Coalbed methane player Blue Energy said it press ahead with exploration drilling on its ATP 817P licence in Queensland after striking almost five metres of coal pay in its Azure-1 core hole.

Blue Energy said it had started work on the Azure-2 and Azure-6 coring holes to establish the size and potential of the resource.

The drilling is targeting Permian Bandanna coal in the Bowen basin, about 55 kilometres north-west of the town of Injune, Queensland.

Blue Energy holds a 100% interest in ATP 817P.
