Houston Drilling cuts into Mirror Image

By Upstream staff

Boise, Idaho-based Environmental Energy Services has hired Houston Drilling Management as manager and partner in the Mirror Image project, a conventional natural gas play neighbouring the South Lake Arthur field in Louisiana.

“Not only do they have experience worldwide, they have experience drilling within 2 miles of our site,” Blaze Energy President Mike Thompson said.

Houston Drilling Management will manage the drilling for the project and acquire a working interest in it as well.

The South Lake Arthur Field is estimated to hold over 1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

It lies adjacent to Environmental Energy Services’ interests, forming a “mirror image” reservoir.

Environmental Energy Services’ leases are located within 2 1/2 miles of the highest producing well and within 200 feet of the nearest pipeline.

Environmental Energy Services is slated to begin drilling the Mirror Image project in 2008.
