Samson drops Oklahoma fields

By Upstream staff

Australia-listed Samson Oil & Gas has sold stakes in two properties in the Amber field, in Grady County, Oklahoma, including nine producing wells, for $4.8 million, it said today.

Samson said in a statement it had sold its share off the properties, covering 1280 acres, to Kaiser-Francis Anadarko, saying it believes the assets have “limited growth potential”, no planned drilling activity.

The company holds a 37.5% and 32.5% working interest respectively in the two wells.

It said it would use part of the proceeds to repay outstanding debt.
